Costuming

I've done a great deal of sewing since September. In October I made a Tinkerbell dress and a treat bag for my grand daughter to go Trick or Treating . That was a fun one to do.

In November I hooked up with a dance studio and made some dance costumes for them. A Mrs. Santa pinafore apron for the little girls group.

The Board shorts for an older group that was dancing to "Li'l Saint Nick."

Baby Stig

One of the funnest projects to date. I got to make a "Baby Stig" racing suit. I had never heard of Top Gear until I was asked to make this. It was fun researching and watching "Stig".

The suit was given to the mother for a baby shower and was well received by the all in attendance. The men showed up after the shower and gave the suit a thumbs up too.

I'm very happy.

Costuming

It's been quit awhile since I updated my blog. I've gotten caught up in helping to make costumes for Grand Canyon University's theater program. They are doing the Pirates of Penzance.

I've never done costuming, and this has been a great adventure and learning experience. I am so loving it. The woman that is in charge of the costuming department is Nola Yergen-Jennings. She's been fun to work with. Check out her stuff, http://designbynola.com/

I've done three pinafores and altered two chemises.

Wedding Bag

Fabric from a wedding dress that was removed makes a great bag. This was fun and easy. The hard part was finding time to go get the zipper.

My Skirt

I had a summer skirt that I really liked a lot, unfortunately it shrank a couple of sizes from being washed. Anyway... I had the top of a pair of jeans that fit, so I cut the top off the skirt and added the skirt to the jeans. Now I have a summer skirt again!!

Summer Dresses

I love sewing. My stress level yesterday was amazingly bad. I managed to make 2 dresses, a skirt and a handbag.

The dresses - the button one is the original pattern, the lace up one is one that Katie suggested. I think she had the right idea. The lace up one was fun because I finally got to use grommets. Both of these dresses went to the Katies, our Katie has a friend named Katie. I hope they fit the girls.

The tops were made out of pant legs from a pair of jeans. The remainder of the jeans was made into a skirt for me.
